MISSIONS PRAYER GROUP

The Missions Prayer Group is an on-line community committed to pray for the spreading of the gospel through missions. Each member commitments to pray specifically for mission prayer priorities at least 1 hour/week.

PURPOSE: To fulfill our calling to pray for the advancement of the Kingdom of God through organized and concentrated pray with an emphasis in three areas:

  1. World/home missions supported by our church
  2. Christian brother and sisters who are experiencing severe persecution
  3. Spreading the gospel to unreached people groups.

Communications with the group uses on-line methods to encourage consistent prayer, and to convey prayer priorities. Group members may not necessarily meet physically but are linked through technology (group text, and links to web pages, etc.). This does not replace existing prayer groups, but supports them.

CURRENT PRAYER PRIORITIES:

MISSIONARIES:

KENDRA & RANDAL BAIRD: CHILDREN TRAVIS, CADEN, SAMUEL AND KATHERINE

The Baird Family serve in Ireland for the purpose of Church Planting and Supporting the National Church. They served as Missionary Associates to Limerick, Ireland where they supported many ministry areas including Life Groups, Youth, Kids, Administration and Connect.

  • Pray for the Life Group (small group) in meeting in Ennis weekly.
  • Pray for the Youth Night they lead in their house.
  • Pray for Kendra as she teaches in the Kids Ministry.
  • Pray that their annual Visa applications will be quickly renewed.
  • Praying for continued increase in their cash budget as we have spent a lot on ministry since our arrival in Ireland.

Note form Kendra: My heart is broken today as I come home from a class I’ve been attending with 9 other moms. Each week I listen to stories of parenting frustrations, but this week was different. Some shared how they were getting help from psychologists, spiritual healers and even guidance from crystals, and my heart broke. God was not even in the conversation. I asked myself where is the church? There are so many people searching for hope and answers. All I feel is “Lord, use me.” I am not anyone special, but so desperately want others to know the Love of God, the one who holds all hope and has all answers. PERSICUTED CHRISTIANS:

Hebrews 13:3 “Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.”

Pray for our brothers and sisters in Nigerian

At least 120 people have been killed in a series of alleged attacks by the Fulani militia on Christian communities in Nigeria since this February.  The victims included women and children (Christian Solidarity Worldwide (CSW).

The Fulani, also known as the Fulani militia, are a semi-nomadic group herding cattle over vast areas, living in the central regions of Nigeria. The majority of the herdsmen are Muslim and have fought with Christian farmers over grazing land for centuries. (Source :CBN News)

Pray for protection, pray that the current government would protect the rights of it’s Christian citizens, Pray for revival among the Fulani, Pray that the media would recognize and report it.

UNREACHED PEOPLE GROUPS:

Matthew. 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

Of the estimated 7.47 billion people alive today, 3.15 billion of them live in unreached people groups with little or no access to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. According to Joshua Project, there are approximately 16,800 unique people groups in the world with about 6,900 of them considered unreached.

Pray for the outreach to 867 unreached people groups of the 48 countries of Sub-Saharan Africa.  Pray for more mission workers willing to take the risks and sacrifices to reach these remote areas. Pray for churches to be planted and disciples make. Pray for direction of the Holy Spirit and protection for those involved. Pray that gospel information will be make available it their native language. (a livedead.org mission priority)
